Reading Endorsement
Teachers may add the reading endorsement to an existing license without completing an entire master's degree. Earning your reading endorsement at Baldwin Wallace includes four courses that are three credit hours each.
The PK-12 reading endorsement meets Ohio's Third Grade Reading Guarantee requirements. The endorsement positions teachers to assess, plan for and implement programs that increase students' literacy skills. Teachers will have the credential along with the knowledge and skills needed to provide the intensive instruction for struggling students that is called for in the guarantee.

Ohio 12-Hour Reading Core Requirement

The BW Department of Education will review transcripts for all applicants applying for admission to the literacy program to identify reading courses. BW will work with you to determine whether additional reading courses would be needed so that Ohio legislative code requirements for the reading endorsement are met.
